Artist's Description
Island Harbour is one of Anguilla's fishing villages. It is a quiet beauty and is home to generation upon generation of Anguillan fishing families. In the early morning hours, the harbor is teems with small fishing vessels ranging from row boats to high speed motor engines all leaving the harbour to fish the waters for fish, lobsters, crabs and other crustaceans.
This image was captured in late August 2018 on a warm and breezy Saturday afternoon. Most of the fishermen had retired for the day and moored their boat in the harbour. After a few delicious rum punches at the Pelican Bar, I strolled the beach talking to locals and fishermen about their idyllic fishing village.
